Life Enrichment Activities & Programs at Cypress Palms
What is so enriching at Cypress Palms? The Life Enrichment Department at Cypress Palms has designed a special calendar of events created to enhance our residents' individual and varied lifestyles. These programs have been created to provide a balance between the spiritual, social, intellectual and physical needs of our residents.

- Aquatic Exercise Classes
- Art/Painting Class – Painting classes for artists of all skill levels
- Audio Book Club
- Baking Club – Share a recipe or use ours to enjoy fresh baked goods!
- Balloon Volleyball – This active sport helps to promote self-confidence in a non-threatening competitive environment. Attend tournaments with outside communities or attend the in-house games.
- Bingo – Play for various prizes
- Card Games – Poker, Rummy, Bridge
- Catholic Communion
- Chair Massage, Hand Paraffins and other Spa Services
- Computer Classes – Learn new computer skills
- Craft Corner and Ceramics – Have fun creating beautiful crafts and ceramic items to keep or give away; no prior experience needed
- Educational Opportunities – Gain additional knowledge or learn new skills by attending various workshops or programs monthly
- Game Day – An opportunity to play classic games with others who also enjoy them (Dominoes, Cribbage, Chinese Checkers, Yahtzee, Checkers, Scrabble …)
- Host to community groups such as the Pinellas County African Violet Society and The Material Gals
- Indoor Soccer – This adaptive sport encourages team effort, exercise and lots of laughter
- Interdenominational Worship – A non-denominational worship service
- Intergenerational Drum Circle – This interactive program can improve mental clarity, raise self-esteem and confidence, tackle communication problems, relieve muscle tension and reduce stress.
- The Lunch Bunch – A lunch outing with residents and staff
- Men’s Coffee – Join other men in the building for coffee, snacks and good conversation
- Monthly Cultural Theme Dinners – A 'special' luncheon or dinner focusing on a specific culture or holiday. This program features specific foods, decorations and entertainment that coincide with the event.
- Movies and Popcorn – On the big screen TV in our auditorium
- Music Ministry
- Musical Programs – A wide variety of musical programs, including Karaoke
- New and Views – Current events class to provide in-depth information and a forum for discussion of the latest news
- Parkinson's Exercise & Support Group – Exercise specifically beneficial for those with Parkinson Disease, along with sharing information, recipes, difficulties and successes, and listening to knowledgeable guest speakers discuss Parkinson care and information
- Red Hat Society
- Resident Food Committee Meeting – Monthly
- Resident Town Hall Meeting – Monthly
- Strength Training for Seniors – Doctors and physical therapists recommend weight training as one of the best forms of physical exercise that older adults can engage in.
- Stretch and Flex
- Trivia, Crossword Puzzles, and other mentally challenging games
- Valiant Veterans Club – Monthly meetings and events for veterans
- Weekend Ice Cream Socials
- Weekly Bus Service to selected Churches and Synagogues
- Weekly Happy Hour with Entertainment
- Wheelchair Shopping – An opportunity for those wheelchair-bound residents to go grocery shopping
