Extended Congregate Care – Helping our Residents Age in Place

Cypress Palms is an Extended Congregate Care (ECC) licensed assisted living community. This special license extension allows us to offer services that 'standard' assisted living facilities cannot provide, in the comfort of your own apartment home.

Our 24-hour licensed nursing care enables us to provide these services:

• Diabetic care – Conducting numerous blood glucose checks daily, as ordered by a physician, as well as sliding scale insulin injections
• Portable oxygen – Administration and regulation
• Catheter care – Replacement of indwelling catheters
• Colostomy & Ileostomy care – Maintenance including changing the wafer and care of the stoma and surrounding skin, as well as assistance changing the bag
• Peg/Gastric feeding tube – Administration of bolus tube feeding and medications
• Total assistance with activities of daily living – Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding
• Special diets, including thickened liquids
• TED hose (anti-embolism stockings) – Assistance with, application, care of and monitoring of anti-embolism stockings and hosiery
• Cast care – 24-hour monitoring by licensed nurses of casts, braces and splints to ensure adequate circulation
• Medication administration – By a licensed nurse, including prescription creams and nebulizer treatments
• Two-person assistance with transfers – Resident must be able to stand and pivot
